Having your device switch to away when home can be troublesome, sorry to hear you are running into this. I would be more than happy to help you out and ensure the device is working properly. There could be a couple different reasons why your device is switching to away. I did find a helpful article with more details and troubleshooting steps. Please let me know if that helps.

I have the same problem of the app thinking I'm away when I haven't left home so I had to disable that automatic feature and remember to manually set Away when I'm leaving and Home when I return.  From reading info about geofencing in IOS I gather responsibility is split between Nest app and IOS, with Nest defining the center point (based on address?) and radius and IOS calling methods in Nest when the phone exits or enters the geofence, correct?  Unfortunately Nest doesn't show the center point or radius so I can't tell if it's doing it right or wrong.  The Compass app in IOS works so I'm pretty sure it's locating the phone correctly.  All settings mentioned in your article are correct.  Is there a way to get more detailed geofence data?  Would it be possible to make Nest just consider itself at home whenever it is able to connect to the WiFi SSID I specify as home instead of doing geofencing?
