My furnace has been off for about 10 days. Now I can't get the Nest app to see the thermostat.

My furnace has been off for about 10 days. Now I can't get the Nest app to see the thermostat. The Nest thermostat is on and is working although it's not set on the right day and time. I can't see a way to reset this. So two things: Resetting the thermostat's time and date. And having the Nest app see the thermostat so that I can control via the app.
