Thanks for letting us know about your broken Nest Thermostat ring. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.
Can you try performing a hard restart by pressing and holding its screen for 10 seconds until it shuts down? Then, wait for a few seconds until it's ready before turning the ring to navigate.
