Mysterious Heating

ClaireM215

Hello there hive minds! I have a Nest thermostat in a house which is only occupied a few weeks a year. The thermostat is set to ECO with an eco temperature of 9.5 degrees. Despite the ambient temperature being higher than this, the app is showing heating usage on some days. Can anyone explain how and why this is happening and suggest a solution?  There is a housekeeper who goes in occasionally but as I understand it, ECO mode remains on even if there is movement in the house if it has been set manually to that mode.

Many thanks indeed!

Hi ClaireM215,

Thank you for taking the time in letting us know about your inquiry. I'd love to help.

If the thermostat learned some temperature aside from the eco temperature, there is a possibility that it will follow that temperature set. To be sure, reset the temperature schedule and disable the auto-learning schedule.

Have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.

Best regards,

Mark
