I'm trying to add the NEST Learning Thermostat to SmartThings App and it keeps sending me to Google Servers. Do I need to migrate my NEST account to Google in order to use SmartThings App or Google Home?

Hi @avig2024,
Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I'm happy to help with your concerns about migrating between the Nest app and the Google Home app.
In this situation, since you have a Nest learning thermostat, the setup process is in the Nest app. This means the Nest account needs to be migrated to the Google account to work properly with 3rd party apps, like the SmarThings app.
Once you migrate your Nest account to a Google account, you'll also be able to control the thermostat in the Google Home app. To migrate your Nest account to a Google account, you can follow the steps in this article: FAQs about accounts for the Nest app, and here's a helpful video about how to migrate your account.
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
Jenniffer

Thank you so much for your response. Would I lose any functionality in regards to Nest Learning Thermostats in compare to what the Nest app provides me today? I was not able to find a concrete answer online.

Hi @avig2024,
Thanks for following up. I understand how important it is to conserve the functionalities of your Nest Learning Thermostat.
After you migrate, you won't lose any functionality. You can still set up and control some features through the Nest app, and you'll be able to control some features of these devices with the Home app. The switch shouldn't significantly impact your Nest Learning Thermostat experience. For more, check out the following article: FAQs about accounts for the Nest app.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Best regards,
Jenniffer
