Hi Steve0351,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that the Nest Thermostat reads a temperature that's 10 degrees higher than the actual room temperature, which prevents the heat from turning on automatically at 68 degrees.  I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • What model of thermostat do you have?
  • When was the Nest Thermostat installed?
  • Do you see an error code on the display?
  • Have you done troubleshooting steps?
    • If so, can you list them?
  • To help us get a better picture of what's happening, do you mind sharing a photo of the wiring of your Nest thermostat?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
