NEST Thermostat wiring

Sleepy
Community Member

I have a Honeywell thermostat with 7 wires: Top row is B, Bottom row is R, Y1, W, X2, O and G.

The only wire that I cannot find on the nest is the X2, is there a work around?

thanks

Hello @Sleepy,

Thanks for reaching out. Please use the following compatibility checker to check if your system is compatible with Nest thermostats: Compatibility Checker.

Hope that helps! 🙂

I got online with Google and they did the research for me. The X2 wire was emergency heat, I taped it off because it can only be used with the Nest Learning Thermostat. All other wires matched up. Thanks everyone

Hello folks,

I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

Thanks for the help here, @Patrick_Caezza and @listairee

@Sleepy, I would like to ensure you are good to go. How's it going with the installation? Have you configured your Nest Thermostat's wiring successfully? If there’s anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Regards,

Mark

Everything worked out just fine. I taped off the X2 (emergency heat) wire. The others lined up just fine and both thermostats are working as advertised.

Hi Sleepy,

Perfect! I'm glad to hear the configuration works as expected. Disconnecting the Emergency heat wire can be temporary, but here's an article that might help you in the future, and I will lock the thread within 24 hours unless I can help out with anything else.

Thanks,

Mark
