Near thermostat offline

Morggg
Community Member

Hi! Does anyone know why my thermostat is saying it’s offline in the google home app but my actual thermostat says it’s connected to the wifi? I’m not sure what the reasoning behind this is or how to fix it.

UPDATE: it says the Nest connection is offline but my wifi is strong. Not sure if this changes anything?

Thanks!

Hi Morggg,

Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay.

This means that your Google Home app and your Nest Thermostat has lost communication with each other through your Wi-Fi network. Could you ensure that your mobile device has a strong network signal? You might also need to check if your Google Home app is on the latest version. Uninstalling then reinstalling it back might help.

If all else fails, please go through the troubleshooting steps outlined here: https://bit.ly/3hGZlTz

Best,

Melba

Okay I did go through the troubleshooting steps & I reset the thermostat. It worked for a few days but now saying the same thing. I changed the batteries this time so we’ll see if that helps. It says it’s not connected to the nest server possibly bc I don’t see my thermostat at all in that app, only in google home.

Hey Morggg,

Got it — how's everything now? Has it managed to stay connected for the past few weeks?
