My Nest has been working for years (inherited from prior owner and have been using ourselves for almost a year), and it all of a sudden shut down while we were away. I charged it with the USB and can get it to function normally, but it loses power after a few hours and dies. It is giving me Error N72: "Power wire Rh detected. No connection to equipment." I'm not sure what means since the heating turns on normally after I give the a Nest USB charge.
I don't have a C-wire, but that hasn't been a problem before. I have wires Y1 - G - Rc - W1 - Rh.
I'm not sure if related, but we had a brief power outage around the same time that the Nest lost connection.

Hello, I am new to this community! I have a gen 3 thermostat installed in my home since 2016. I am getting an error code of e74 no power to RH wire. I have completed all the steps suggested to troubleshoot this error code only to find out that this has been an ongoing issue. Like many others google will not replace the defective item. Nor did they notify customers of the hardware issue. (Per a chat I held yesterday) At this point, I have lost all functions of the nest thermostat and my unit runs at will. I hope this helps!!!
