Tried everything. Battery good, deleted and reinstalled app and thermostat. Thermostat shows online but app shows offline. Version up to date.  Any ideas?

Mine too. I’ve had mine for about 18 months.

Had mine for several years and it just started this

Did anyone get help with this. If so, can you tell me how?

On your device, forget the network your Nest and device are on, then sign back in. Have to enter the password again. mine has been online for an hour or better now.  Problem seems to be with device or the app, not the Nest itself as it has always shown connected to network.

Hello folks,

I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

@Md171, Thanks for posting and for updating us on what you've done to have your thermostat reconnected to your Wi-Fi network in the app. Please keep observing it at the moment, and if anything comes up, feel free to let us know.

@Dust and @Dar2, I wanted to see if you'd tried the steps shared by Md171. Also, I found a helpful article with some troubleshooting steps for when your thermostats went offline in the app. Please let me know if that helps or if the issue still persists.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi there,

I wanted to see if you still needed help reconnecting your thermostats in the app. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Mark

seems to be ok now. Just had a period where it would t connect to the app, even when both were in the same network. Hopefully it healed itself…

Yes, my thermostat won’t connect to my WiFi. It finds the network, try’s to connect but tells me it was unsuccessful. WiFi has been tested, new batteries in thermostat, factory reset, deleted from app. Nothing helps.

Hello Dust,

I appreciate all the steps you've taken. It appears that you have the Nest Thermostat 2020 model since the batteries have been replaced. How's it going on your thermostat? Is it still showing offline in the Google Home app?

Mark

Yes, it will not connect. It finds my network and goes through all the steps. Then gives me a message of ‘can’t be completed’ or something similar

Hi there,

Gotcha. I'd love to know more about it — do you receive any code on the Google Home app or on the actual Nest Thermostat? Could you please check if you see an icon with an exclamation point on the app? Also, try to use a different phone to add your thermostat.

I appreciate your help, @Md171 and Mark.

Best,

Jenelyn

Hi there, the app not the device have given me any codes. The app does not have the icon. I have tried so many things. The thermostat and my app will go through all the connections and even say it’s connected. Then I get an error message- “something went wrong, try connecting again’

Hello Dust,

I'm sorry for the late reply. I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

How's your thermostat? Have you managed to add your thermostat to the Google Home app? If you haven't yet, try creating a new home structure and adding your thermostat again.

Please let me know if that helps or if the issue still persists.

Regards,

Mark
