Nest 3rd Gen

When the outside temp gets close to 33/32 Deg F, my carrier heating system cycles on/off and the zone board turns on/off. When I turn off my Nest and only use my zone 2 thermostat the heating system works fine. The zone 2 is a basic Honeywell thermostat. HVAC companies keep saying it’s my zone control board. I just want to make sure is not something to do with the Nest before replacing an expensive zone board. Any suggestion / troubleshooting will be helpful.

Hi Waterdust,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your heating. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this information by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward
