Nest 3rd Generation

Here are the issues. The Nest was unintentionally pulled from the wall, and died out. I charge it via USB, and it comes back on via the charging cable, but once I put it back in place. It's a Orange light and a clicking noise. The Nest hasn't come online, but once back to the cable, it's back online.

Hi Nell8,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd like to know more about it. How long did you charge your Nest Thermostat to the micro USB charger? Also, could you please provide your thermostat power readout?

You can follow this guide:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

If the battery level is above 3.7 V, proceed with performing an account connection reset. Settings > Reset > Account Connection. If the voltage is below 3.7 V, continue charging it for at least an hour. After that, reconnect your thermostat to your Wi-Fi network.

Best,

Jenelyn
