Nest 4th Gen AC not working after installation

I just installed a 4th gen Nest.  At first, I only had heat, no AC.  Red to Rh, Cyan to C, Green to G, and White to W1.  I didn't have a Yellow wire. After reading posts here, I switched the white wire to Y1. Now there's no heat but the AC fan kicks on but not the compressor outside.  What have I done wrong?  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I understand that you installed a Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen); however, after installation and changing some wiring configuration, the AC fan kicks on, but the compressor outside is not working. No worries; I’m here to help.

In order to gather further details and determine the optimal resolution, please answer the following questions: 

  • Could you please attach pictures of the current wiring configuration recently installed and the previous wiring system? 
  • Can you check your HVAC system’s control board to see how the wires are connected, and if possible share a picture of it? 
  • Did you see an error message on the thermostat or Google Home app? 

Any additional information would be appreciated.
