I wanted to see if a nest thermostat would be compatible with my cooling and heating system. I took a picture to make sure.

Yes!! same honeywell thermostat I've just replaced with my new nest thermostat, the home app will guide you through the process I just installed mine 3 days ago

You need one more wire for the C wire if you get the Nest thermostat.
There might be a unused yellow wire in the cable in the wall that you can connect to C but you have to go to the furnace and find where the wires connect to the terminal screws and connect it the C screw on the furnace.
Not sure why they used blue for the Y terminal that is unusual. Blue is normally C and yellow is Y but it doesnt really matter the color wire as long as you have a C wire connected if you go with the regular Nest.
If you get the Nest Learning thermostat it does not need the C wire but that model is more expensive.
Most gas and electric utility companies have a marketplace website that sell the Nest for a substantial discount.
