Nest Compatibility

Hello!

I am trying to find out if my wiring is compatible for Nest. I see that I have 4 wires (RYWG) coming off of the panel, but only 2 wires (RB) coming out of the wall. In the video I watched in line, I would remove the part with the four wires and use the wires coming out of the wall, but if there are only 2 coming out of the wall, is that enough?

Thank you!!

David

Hi @David35 - yes it will work but you might need to get a nest power connector to ensure it won’t drop connection. Sorry I can’t be more help.

Hi folks,

I appreciate the help, @MrVacca.

@David35, thanks for posting with your thermostat wiring diagram. A Nest Power Connector or a C wire may be required if you only have 2 wires set up to deliver constant power to the thermostat. To make sure it's compatibility, could you please tell us the make and model of your HVAC systems? Also, do you only have a heating unit?

Looking forward for your response.

Thanks,

Mark
