Nest E Wire Connections with Old 2-wire Millivolt Gas Wall Heater

I'm trying to use a Nest E thermostat on a very old gas wall heater system (no fan). The existing Gas Heater system runs 2 wires (one black and one white) to the old style millivolt thermostat on the wall (which I want to replace with the Nest E).  I know I need to add in a 24VAC Transformer.  I think the wiring should be as follows:

24V White - C tab

24V Black - R tab

Gas Heater Black - R tab

Gas Heater White - W tab

In other words - two wires go into the R tab on the Nest E

Can someone confirm this is correct.  Or please clarify the right connections.  A link to a video would be much appreciated.

Thanks !!!
