Nest E wiring with a heat pump.

Dear everyone,

I know these questions seem to be asked over and over, but it is hard to fully understand most of them in relation to my system wiring. Plus, my wires are not all the right color. Right now we have some problems in the winter with the system switching to using indoor coils and the pump for heating as needed, and in the summer the nest loses power about every 10 minutes. I will include some pictures below...

Hi JoshR,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.

Please gather the power readings of your Nest Thermostat E by going to its Settings > Technical Info > Power (Battery, VOC, VIN, and lIN). This will help us determine the current voltage the Nest Thermostat gets along the thermostat wires. Also, a few questions: Is this a newly installed thermostat? If yes, please send us a photo of your old thermostat wiring configuration and a photo of how the thermostat wires are connected to the HVAC control board.

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
