Will the new Gen 4 Nests operate and utilize the variable-modulating heat pump compressors and blowers? I have a Senville heat pump compressor and ducted blower with a wired Senville T-stat that modulates the compressor and blower speed. I'd like to keep that functionality as it makes the system even more energy efficient. My Gen 3 was tried (it works with the system) but it only was on at max or off, no modulation/variable speed.
I'm really hoping variability/modulation functionality has been included the Gen4

I have the same question. We have a Carrier heat pump and variable speed Carrier air handlers. The non-smart Carrier controller uses temperature differential to modulate speed and increase efficiency. The previous gen Nest thermostats seem to only drive the air handlers either off or high speed, nothing in between. Does the Gen 4 system have any added variable speed capability?
