Nest H72 message

How do you log a complaint against Google Nest?

its 2° and my 70 year old wife with MS is freezing. I’ve tried all the trouble shooting then been told to contact BOXT who deal with Nest problems. They want £89 just to diagnose problem, but I know what the problem is, it’s the heat link, I know it they know it but won’t budge until I cough up £89. Then parts and labour on top will take it past the cost of a new stat.

Ive tried all ways to urgently contact Nest but like all the tech giants you can’t contact them unless you’re buying. Meanwhile my seriously ill wife freezes and her condition worsens. Customer focus at its worst

If you are sort of a handyman, you can probably go down to where the heat link is connected, jumper some wires together down there and turn your heat on. Of course, it might help if you’ve had several years experience working on heating and cooling systems like the technician at the company that wants £89 pounds to come diagnose your problem.

Probably no use, but you can press the button on the heat link to turn the heating on - although only any use if it’s the thermostat that’s broken, not the heat link or boiler.

A local heating engineer may be cheaper / more helpful?

Thanks Shoomy but tried that. The Heat Link is as dead as the proverbial parrot. Hoping engineer is coming today 🤞

Hi @Blade56, thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue, but we'll sort this out together. To confirm, you're having issues with your Heat Link, is that correct?

Yes, contacted BOXT (0800 193 7777but they asked for £89 to “diagnose” problem even though this is a common known fault with a diode failing. Eventually contacted by a pleasant young man called Adam from BIXT. He has arranged for an engineer to come and fit a new Heat Link this afternoon. Fingers crossed someone will come.

Engineer arrived about 6:45 tonight. Nice lad, very quick to get us up and running with heat 😁. Ironically in the last few minutes I received an email saying there might be a fault with my heat link and that I am eligible for a free replacement 🤦🤷. Thanks to Adam at BOXT customer service who pulled a bad situation through to a good outcome.
