Nest Home/Away Assist Failure "it's been a few days since we've heard from your phone"

Google Nest Home /Away Assist has been working fine for nearly a year on my Samsung Galaxy S21 and for a couple years before that on a Galaxy S8. But recently, my Nest keeps going into Eco mode at night (when I'm not detected walking around near the Nest and Protect) .

Nest indicates "it's been a few days since we've heard from your phone" despite checking all the troubleshooting steps (location settings, etc) . Any idea why this feature has started failing lately?

Mine too... been waiting for answer here. Using iPhone 8. Home assist just doesn't work! Says I'm away when I'm home and vice versa... I can't work out if using Nest and Google Home together causes a conflict but they don't seem to work solo either

Same problem for me. I’m using iPhone 12 Pro Max. Hope we get answer soon.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with the Home / Away Assist feature of your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this. To isolate the issue, could you try toggling your phone under Home / Away Assist setting off and on again? Once done, please observe it for 24-48 hours and let us know if there are any changes.
