Nest Learning Thermostat - Schedule with room sensor

liuser22

Hi all,

First post here but couldn't find the answer when I was searching.  I'm trying to schedule my Nest Learning Thermostat and I can set the cool schedule which is the desired outcome but is it possible to ALSO schedule which sensor to use?  It seems to default to where my thermostat is.

As a Nest Learning Thermostat user, I want to schedule the temperature AND the room sensor so that during the day I can have the living room as the temperature and by night have the nest schedule using the bedroom sensor.

Hello liuser22

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. You can do this by setting up a normal manual schedule from your Nest app or actual Nest Thermostat for the day and by night you can set up a schedule for your Nest Temperature Sensor from your Nest App.

Give these steps a try:

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. Tap Settings on the home screen.
  3. Tap your thermostat.
  4. Select Manage sensors.
  5. Choose Sensor schedule. If you’d like to set a schedule for your sensors, tap the button to turn this option on.
  6. You can then choose a temperature sensor (or your thermostat’s built-in sensors) to use for each block of time.

Let us know how it goes.

I appreciate your response, DanCoco.

Best,

Emerson

Hey Emerson,

Thanks for this!  It's a great option.  I think I was looking for more of an hourly schedule similar to how the temperature can be set.  But this is good enough I think and I can manage around it.
