Hi folks. I purchased my (3rd generation) nest learning thermostat from Costco. When I removed the protective film at the bottom, I thought there was another layer of film under it, so I tried to peel it off again. But unfortunately, it's not a removable film. Instead, it seems to be a sensor, and it got scratched.
I have to point out that this is a design problem. I saw other posts reporting the same issue, so I believe many other folks also went into it.

I wonder what we can do to fix it. Thanks!
