Nest Learning Thermostat

Hello
Since the last update of the application, my Nest thermostat installed since 2017, I can no longer control the heating with the phone or remotely either. However, the device is connected because it always gives me my daily consumption. Is there a problem with the application or with my nest. Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you so much for reaching out to the community. I apologize to hear the heating cannot be controlled with the app weather remotely or when you are with the thermostat. Let’s work together and fix it!

To troubleshoot effectively, please answer the following questions: 

  • What type of thermostat do you have? 
  • Does the heat work when you change the temperature on the thermostat itself?
  • Is it displaying any error codes? 
  • Is your phone connected under the same WiFi network as the thermostat? 
  • What is the make and model of your mobile device?
  • What is your mobile device’s operating system?

There are two reasons why the thermostat may not be controllable through the app: it might not be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone when you're at home, or the Home/Away Assist feature might not be configured correctly after the software upgrade, preventing remote control. In the meantime, please follow these troubleshooting steps:

To control your thermostat remotely, you can set up Home/Away Assist on the Nest app or create a routine in the Google Home app.
