My Nest Thermostat won't turn on furnace to heat home to the selected temperature with Heat Mode or Eco Mode (currently set at 68 degrees) It will only turn on the Furnace when it reaches the Safety Temperature (currently set at 45 degrees) heating the house to 47 degrees and then shutting the furnace off. We recently had a storm and lost internet connectivity which has since been restored. Any ideas?

There's been a flurry of similar questions on here, and I just had exactly the same problem as you describe. I learned what to do from this thread: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Nest-not-calling-for-heat/m-p/63257/highligh.... Consensus is that it's a bug in the software. The first thing to try is a Restart. If that doesn't work, read on.
The problem (their problem and my problem; possibly not yours) is that if the temperature falls below the Safety Temperature, the Nest gets stuck in that mode and won't obey any commands from you. What seems to be working for everyone including me is to set the Safety Temperature to be well above or well below the current room temperature. For some reason that gets the Nest out of its funk. Once it's responding normally you put the Safety Temperature back where you want it.

I have a similar post, having the same issue with remote sensors. I think it may be related to the android app. Can't get the furnace to come on when the safety temp is restored, is like it gets stuck in eco, but eco is off and home selected. I got it to work by switching from the remote sensor which is below eco temp, to the the main thermostat sensor which was above the eco temperature and the furnace started. definitely a bug. Has caught me a few time when I got there the place was still freezing cold.
