Nest Question

My Nest has been acting flakey.  It intermittently displays that it not connected to the base. I can’t reset my WiFI password.

Can I just purchase a new Nest and just plug it in to the current mounting plate / wiring diagram for the HVAC? Or does the whole mounting need to be replaced?

Thanks!

@skyseek , what is not clear is whether the back plate is bad or if it’s the display, that’s having trouble. I would recommend that if you buy a new nest learning thermostat that you replaced the base as well as the display. You would have to make some changes in your app and you would have to delete the old thermostat first. Then you would install the new thermostat and start the whole installation process.
