Nest Sensor - It's Lost!

EJD440

I have a sensor for my Nest thermostat that is somewhere in my home.  It was installed and linked with my thermostat several years ago, and still shows on my app.

The problem is that I cannot find it. . . I think a houseguest may have moved it at some point?  I have looked everywhere and have absolutely no clue where it might be.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could find it?  I tried running a heater in several different rooms with the door closed to see if the temperature from the sensor changed, but I was unsuccessful.

Thank you!

Hello folks,

Thanks for reaching out about your missing Nest Temperature Sensors. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

A few questions: are your sensors still showing as connected and detecting any room temperatures in the Nest app? Did you try searching in the area nearby where your sensors are installed? Also, have you tried asking your home members or guests if, by any chance, they moved it to a different location or if they might have placed it on a shelf?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark

Hi there,

I wanted to see if you still needed help. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Mark

I am afraid it is lost forever. At this point the battery has died so I don’t know how to find it. I live alone so I know no one else has done anything with it. I just wish they had some sort of tracking mechanism like ‘Find My Phone’.

Oh! I'm sorry to hear that you can no longer find it. We're really working to bring more features to Google Nest devices to make them work flawlessly. I understand that having location tracking for the sensor can be useful, so thank you for your insight, EJD440.

Please let our product team know about it by sending feedback. Also, if there’s anything else I can help you with, please let me know. Otherwise, this thread will be locked within 24 hours.
