Nest Thermostat Home/Away

Hi

For a while now Nest Home/Away assist won't work with my Galaxy A51.

Status states "It's been a few days since we've heard from your phone.  It's not currently being used for Home/Away Assist.  Check your phone's location settings."

Location settings are set correctly and I've tried no end of reset/on/off as per other suggestions but to no avail.

Works fine with an iphone that's also being used in the  home.

Anyone else seeing this or found a resolution?

Thanks for posting in the community! Sorry to hear about this situation of the Home/Away feature not working on your Nest Thermostat. No worries, help is here! I'd like to ask your a few question about your device:

 

  1. What model of the Nest device do you have?
  2. What is the mobile app version?
  3. Have you tried removing the thermostat from the app and re-connecting it?

Thanks for coming back to me ..
I have a Nest Gen 3 unit.
Backplate 6-5.
Base software version is 2.3.23/3.1
Display Software version is 5.9.5-2 
 
Thermostat says it has the latest software installed.
 
I have the latest Nest App on my Android, last updated on 12th June 2024.
 
I have tried removing the thermostat and re adding but still the same.
 
Works fine with my wife's iPhone.
 
It sees my Galaxy fine, it picks up the phone name etc but feels like there is something not right with the location side of things.
 
I have tried several on/off  resets on location etc  including making sure that I have allowed the precise location to be seen at all times - but still no joy.
