Hi, I have seen this issue in different places.
Basically, I got a nest in August and it has been 6 straight months of WAY above average usage. My provider lists my heating/cooling next to average homes and I was always near that make, now I and significant above with my core temperatures much lower than my thermostat. The house generally feels cooler all winter and yet I got killed on the bill. Again, it was a wierd winter of high and lows but my comparison usage was far above the norm.
I am usually, at 70 for heat, 65 for night and have learning on. When I come home the system is usually in the 63-65 range and the heat ramps up in about an half hour to 70. I have not idea what I am doing wrong, many thanks!

Hello rickrother3,
I appreciate you reaching out and sharing your concerns about your Nest Thermostat usage. I'm sorry to hear that you've experienced six months of significantly above-average energy consumption, especially when your thermostat settings are seemingly in line with typical usage patterns.
Dealing with unpredictable weather can indeed impact energy bills, but it's understandable that you're puzzled by the noticeable difference in your consumption compared to the norm. Several factors could contribute to the increased energy usage, such as insulation issues, HVAC system inefficiencies, or even potential power-related issues.
Considering the complexity of these systems, can you give us more details about your HVAC system? What type of heating do you have? Also, from what country are you posting?
I'll look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Mark
