Nest Thermostat/Temperature Sensor Calibration

mynest22

Does anyone know how or if it is possible to calibrate Nest Thermostats and/or Temperature Sensors?  I just purchased a (3) pack of Nest Temperature Sensors which are all consistently reading 3-4 degrees below the thermostat temperature when they are all temporarily installed on the wall within 12" of the thermostat.

No, there's no way to calibrate them. Lots of people are having this same problem lately. You could try resetting the thermostat but that didn't fix the problem for me.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting here and we're sorry for the delay.

When your system and thermostat are working normally, there can be a small difference between what the app and your Google Nest Thermostat show and the temperature you feel.

Check out this link to know more.

Best regards,

I would love to know why I set the AC for 72, and the temperature reads 72, but the AC continues to run, and run, and run.......

Mine too. And then if I change to 73 it will turn off, I'll set it back to 72 and it stays off. Then if I check the temp again 2 mins later it shows it is 71 in the room. Wtf

My device continues to have a mind of its own and run after the desired temperature is reached or kick on randomly.  I DO NOT have it in learning mode---I set it and leave it at the desired temperature, but that doesn't seem to matter.  This has to be the most annoying piece of technology that is definitely not saving me any money by running my AC non-stop.

Jake--not sure if you got my last response, but it sounds like with the resources you provided, I need to get an electrician to look at the issue, so I understand you are locking the thread and thanks for the resources--TBD if eventually the system will work correctly.

i am having similar issue. ill have it set at 76 and then when the AC kick ons it will say its 78 and cooling will take hours to drop 2 degrees. had a professional check my system out and everything is good on the unit side and the only thing left to change is the thermostat itself. From what i researched the latest update was years ago so it cant be a software issue. i live in texas and our electrical provider gives a $65 instant rebate on a new thermostat so ill be replacing mine and seeing what happens.

I have a problem where my ambient temperature is running 5 to 6 degree's higher than the actual temperature.  Tried resetting multiple times and nothing fixes it.  Also having issues with sensor turning on display as we walk by.  I give up with this one. Google is not providing support for this defective thermostat and it is only 1 year old.
