Nest Thermostat Won’t Turn On

AnonymousOne22

I bought and installed this thermostat over 2 years ago and it’s been working great.  All of a sudden, this evening, I notice it’s no longer connected to Wi-Fi. I assume the batteries are low, so I popped it off the mount, swapped fresh batteries (tried several charged pairs), and now my Thermostat will not turn back on.  What gives?

Hi AnonymousOne22,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Google Nest Community.

I'd like to check a couple of things for us to further help you. Based on your details from the post, it looks like you're using the newest Nest Thermostat. Do you have a C (common) wire connected to it? It seems that it is draining the battery as it needs to work and be connected to the internet all the time.

Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Regards,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

thank you for replying.  I tried 3 different sets of rechargeable AAA’s, just in case 1 set was bad.  Nothing.  I pulled out a pack of Rayovac batteries, and presto…turned back on. So embarrassing.

Hiya AnonymousOne22,

I'm glad to hear you were able to get your Thermostat working! In that case, did you have any other questions or concerns?

Best regards,
