Nest Thermostat and Temp Sensor Setup Issues

I just installed 2 Nest Thermostats (Google-branded). Thermostats work fine and show up in the Google Home app. 

When I try to install the Nest Temperature Sensor (Google-branded), it tells me I need to set it up in the Nest App. 

When I try to install the Temp Sensor in the Nest App, it tells me I need to add the Thermostats to the Nest App. 

When I try to install the Thermostats in the Nest App, it tells me to go to the Google Home App. 

This is dumb. Really dumb. How did this get out of QA? 

Also, can someone please help before the throbbing vein in my head pops?

I would be more than happy to assist you and ensure your system is working properly. Do you mind me asking, when signing in to the Nest App, are you using the same email address as your Google Home app account? I did also find a helpful article that provides more details on how to set up the temp sensor. Please let me know if that helps.
