Nest Thermostat (basic)….how do I delete custom temperature presets?

LarryFL

I made some custom temperature presets that I now want to delete. Does anyone have info on how to do this? I know I can delete the schedule, but I want to delete the custom presets if possible. Thanks.

Hi @LarryFL

Check THIS link:

To view, edit, or create temperature presets for your thermostat:

  1. Open the Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Select Temperature preferences.
  5. Choose Temperature presets.
  6. Select an existing preset to change or delete it, or tap Add to create a custom preset.

It sounds good but there is no delete option.

Hi LarryFL,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Temperature presets that Nest Thermostat 2020 have which can be seen on the Google Home app are already set as default which cannot be deleted but can automatically set when certain schedules or situations require it. You can go to this setting to modify those temperature targets.

Please let me know if you have any questions from here. I would be happy to assist and make sure you are good to go.

Thanks for your help, @David_K

  5. Select the three horizontal lines at the top left corner and delete you custom presets.

After following your suggestion and going to temperature preferences, there are no 3 horizon lines in the upper left corner.

Hello LarryFL,

Understood. Can you help me with the screenshot of what you're seeing on your Google Home app screen when you select your thermostat, tap Settings, and choose for Temperature Preferences?

Thanks,

Zoe

I don't see how to insert a screenshot in this thread. On Android I'm using Google Home version 3.0.1.9.  And actually, it's not worth the trouble.

Hey there,

Checking back in — can you help me with a screenshot of what you see under your Google Home app’s Settings, then Temperature Preferences?

Best,

Zoe

Hi folks,

@LarryFL, thanks for the follow-up, and I'm sorry for the late response.

Click the three horizontal dots on the top right corner to delete custom presets for your Nest Thermostat on the app.

Let us know if that helps.

Best regards,

Zoe

There is no option for delete. Please do not give the wrong answer if you do not know the answer.
