Has anyone else had an issue with their nest thermostat not holding a charge. It’s not even 3 years old and the charge does not even last a day. After troubleshooting and watching it for 24 hours I was informed by “Wayne” a senior supervisor that it is an issue with the battery and the thermostat itself but my warranty expired in January and I’m basically out of luck. My only option seems to be to buy another thermostat. Pleaded my case and he admitted this isn’t normal and he would be upset if he was in my position as well but refused to make it right and offer a refund. Pretty much worst customer service I ever dealt with. Had a similar issue with a Ring product a few months past warranty and they did the right thing and replaced my product. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar horrible experience.

Does your thermostat have a C wire?

The Nest Thermostat has an internal rechargeable battery that can be replaced. You can google up a few videos and they show you how to take it apart and replace it. I would try that first before ruling out the whole unit is bad.
