Nest Thermostat

I have measured 24 vac right on the thermostat between the  R terminal and the C terminal yet I keep getting an E 297 error. What is wrong?

Is this a new install? Do you have a pic of your old thermostat and current wiring on the Nest wiring plate?

This is new with a new cable. If I jumper white to red the heat comes on. I measure 24 vac between red and blue, but I get the e297 error.

Thanks, looks right. If go to the settings in the google app, and you look at the wiring diagram, does it show “24v common is bold”?
