Hi All,

I see this question has been asked before (@Olafmol @Labtec500) but i cant seem to find the answer.

What is the weather compensation curve used by the Nest 3rd Gen Learning Thermostat? Can you manually change the curve to suit your property type?

Thanks

Hi VictorianJoe,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum. The Nest Learning Thermostat, including the 3rd Generation model, currently does not use a specific weather compensation curve. The Nest Learning Thermostat primarily focuses on learning your preferred temperature settings and creating a schedule based on your behavior. The Nest Learning Thermostat relies on its learning capabilities, sensors, and user input to determine the most comfortable and energy-efficient settings for your home. It takes into account factors such as occupancy patterns, temperature adjustments, and manual overrides to adapt and create a personalized schedule. While you cannot manually change a specific weather compensation curve on the Nest Learning Thermostat, it does consider outdoor temperature when determining the optimal time to start heating or cooling to reach the desired temperature by the scheduled time. This helps to ensure the indoor comfort level while minimizing energy consumption.
