Nest ac mode

My Learning Nest thermostat is only showing heat in mode. No AC. It used to show heat and cool and heat/cool. We operated AC last year with it. I checked the equipment detected in settings and it only shows heat and fan. AC is not detected! I checked the AC breaker and it is turned on. I tried a RESTART on the nest. It didn’t change anything. PLEASE HELP!  Thx

Hello Moxie110,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm happy to help you with your thermostat.

To assist you with the potential issue of your Nest Thermostat not detecting the AC wire, we recommend the following steps:

  • Safety First: Always remember to turn off the power at the breaker box before making any adjustments to your thermostat's wiring.
  • Review your Nest Thermostat's wiring diagram. This diagram will detail the correct placement for each wire connected to the thermostat.
  • Verify the AC wire's connection. Ensure it's securely attached to the designated port, typically labeled "Y" or "Y1" on your Nest Thermostat.
  • Try to reset the thermostat in case the previous steps were done. You can go to Settings and then select Reset.

Please feel free to reply to this post in case you need more assistance. We're committed to helping you achieve a successful connection.

Best regards,

Douglas
