Nest and new Daikin 2 ton 2 stage / gas furnace

Brand new AC system acting weird. AC company so far unable to make it better. Haven't really looked to the thermostat as a source of the problem. Woke up this morning to the fan blowing on low speed with temp 5 degrees above set point. Turned system off, then immediately back on, after 2 min delay it started blowing cold and hard, dropped temp in pretty short period of time. AC guys keep messing with the TXV when they come out, but at some point during the day it seems to start cooling LESS. Still cools the air but not enough. Often a quick off then back on gets it blowing cold again for a while. Really, this is similar symptom that old system was displaying, reason we replaced it. Return line measures 94 degrees (about ambient) with unit running, second AC unit right next to it measures 107 degrees running.

Hi wolftimj,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. I know it's been a while now. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? Do you see any messages or codes on your thermostat? In what country are you located? Please check your thermostat's power readout. Also, check your thermostat's Energy History, as it might help you see what your thermostat is doing previously.

You can follow this guide to check your thermostat's power readout:

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Nest Thermostat 2020:

  1. Open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Best,

Jenelyn
