I have migrated my Nest account to Google. The app used to provide features that allowed you to control the thermostat when out of home. None of these features are showing. Just shows Home and Away but only option is to Add Product. When I do that it asks me to scan or continue without scanning. Select Thermostat and it asks for a 7 digit entry key. On the thermostat in settings it asks you to go to Nest App which then says already registered. Google couldn't have made this more complicated - any suggestions how I get original remote control features back? Thanks!

Hi Antrobus,
Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay ― let's get this sorted out.
A few questions: what Nest Thermostat do you have? Check this link to know what thermostat you have. Are you able to see the thermostat on the homepage of the Home app?
Best,
Mel

Hi Mel, Just checked the thermostat and here are the tech details. Model - Backplate 3.2, Software 1.0.26/3.1 Version 5.9.4-5 last updated 24 September. I can't see the thermostat on the Google Home app only a Google speaker. The Nest app only shows the name of the thermostat and the outside temperature.

Hey Antrobus,
Thanks for the update. I'm sorry if the issue persists. Could you please check if you have multiple home structures? If you do, try switching homes to see if your Nest Thermostat is registered to a different home structure. Also, check if your thermostat is set to Away in the Google Home app.
Best,
Jenelyn
