Nest changing temperature

Tmck

I have 3 nest in my home. I have disabled all scheduling, deleted all scheduled temp nodes. I disabled home away. Disabled all other options like direct sun, etc.  I even locked each unit.  But when set to heat and cool... normally 67 / 73... each night and morning it seems to randomly change.  Just now I had to adjust my upstairs and basement from 71 / 76. It seems to move both upper and lower temp by same amount.  I am getting so frustrated.  Help.

Hello Tmck,

I'm sorry to hear that your thermostat isn't maintaining the setting that you set it at at night. It must be frustrating, but I wanted to see how I could help.

It appears that you might be enrolled in a Rush Hour Program. This feature happens when there's an unusually high demand on the grid. During these events, your Nest thermostat will adjust your home’s temperature by up to 4 degrees, helping you use less energy. Contact your electric company and see if you are associated with this program.

Keep us posted.

Best regards,

Mark

So it turned out I had Google Home App  Nest added as well and it had a 'routine' that was setting the thermostats to 75 for some reason. Once I removed this all was well.

Hi there,

Thanks for letting us know that there was a routine made from the Google Home App. Clearing the Home/Away Routines would help, so your thermostat will be programmed manually.

So I'm going to be locking this thread in 24 hours unless you have other questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Mark
