Nest hot water not starting boiler

Hot water will no longer turn boiler on.  Schedule shows water on in Nest Device and App. This has been working fine for over 3 years. We can only get hot water my turn ing the heat sync device to manual which turns on heating too and probably heats the water that way.

 

i have seen lots of similar issues in these forums but no fix, can anybody help?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry that your Nest Thermostat is having trouble when heating or activating your heating system. Let's work through some potential solutions.

Before we get started with further details, let me ask you some questions

  1. What Nest Thermostat model do you have?
  2. What is the color of your Heat Link's light?
  3. Did you try to take the Heat Link out of Manual Mode?
  4. What troubleshooting steps have you done before calling us? (In case you did something different in the meantime)
  5. When was the thermostat installed?

Basic Checks:

Restart Devices:

  • Restart or reset Heat Link: Press and hold the button on the Heat Link for 20 seconds until the LED slowly blinks.
  • Restart Thermostat: Remove the thermostat faceplate and reattach it to initiate a restart.
  • Check for Error Codes: If your thermostat displays an error code.
  • Check that your system doesn't need maintenance.
