Nest not responding to changes

Our nest has a mind of its own. We have deleted all schedules but the nest keeps cooling to 70 degrees at night. We have the unit set to 74 and this matched what is showing on the app. I even was as far to turn the setting to “off” and the the unit was still cooling. During the day it seems to get the temperature to 74. Today I set the unit to 76 degrees and it still cooled to 74. I have no idea how this happened or what to try as we already tried a hard reset. Any suggestions?

Hello Sbrognad

I can honestly appreciate how annoying that must be. No worries; we'll check this out. Have you turned off autoschedule feature on the Nest thermostat?
Check out this link on how to disable  learning for the temperature schedule.

Let me know if that works.

Thanks,

Edmond

We do not have auto schedule as that is only available on the E and Learning Thermostat and we just have the regular Nest.

Hi all,

@Sbrognad, are you referring to the Nest Thermostat 2020? the mirrored-display thermostat? You can check out this link for your reference. It will help us identify the steps we should give you to follow.

Thanks for your help, Edmond.

Best,

Zoe

That link was not working for me. The model number of our unit is GA02083 and the ASIN is B08HRWWCTR

Hi folks,

@Sbrognad, thanks for providing additional information. I'm sorry for the delay. I know it's been a while already. I'd like to take a closer look at it. Please provide your Nest Thermostat power readings or information.

You can follow the guide below:

  1. Open the Google Home app and then tap the thermostat and then tap Settings .
  2. Select the Device Information.
  3. Choose Technical Information.

Also, please check your thermostat Energy History. It might help you see what your thermostat was doing previously.

I appreciate the input, Edmond and Zoe.

Regards,

Jenelyn
