Nest not switching back to home mode

jsobo

I have been using the Nest Thermostat for more than 3 years. I always used the Home/Away Assist with no issues, until recently. It used to detect when I left and returned home. Recently, I found that it detects my departure from home and will switch to ECO mode, but when I return home, it shows and confirms that I am Home on the APP, but the mode setting still on ECO mode. I would need to manually switch it back to the normal mode. I have checked everything on the app but found nothing out of the ordinary - the same settings for the last three years. I have uninstalled and re-installed the app, but the situation remains the same. I use an iPhone 12 and the iOS software is up-to-date.  This is also happening with my friend's Nest Thermostat. What is going on here? Any help would be much appreciated.

Good to go? No, I am not. The issue persists, despite all of my previous actions, and I haven't received any guidance from support. I wish I could return my Nest thermostat and get a different brand.

Hey jsobo,

Sorry again for the late reply. If your device is stuck in away and not switching back by itself to the home feature, there is a chance you may need to restart the thermostat itself. Do you mind me asking what generation of thermostat you own? Please let me know if you require help in restarting the device, and if that works out.

Best regards,

Jake
