Nest push button works but does not respond when rotating (spinning)

Our nest connects to the terminal fine but the unit does not click when rotating and cannot choose from menu options or adjust temp

Manually restart the thermostat to see if this gets things running again, sounds like it could be a UX glitch.

To manually restart the Nest thermostat:

  1. Press your thermostat ring and hold it down until the screen turns off (about 10 seconds). Then let go of the ring.
  2. Press and release the ring to turn it back on and complete the restart process. The Nest logo will appear when it begins to start up. The screen will turn on as it finishes.

Have done that several times to no avail.

hmm... Try unscrewing the two biggest screws on back, twist the back loose and reseat it. Could be jammed somehow. 

Took the back off and looked for any foreign objects.  put it back together and its still not recognizing the rotation.  probably broken

I have the same problem, I tried many ways still not working. And Thromostat sets its own temperature it won't follow the schedule
