Nest registers incorrect temperature. AC turns on and stays on when below threshold

My 3rd Gen Nest turns on at least once a day when the temperature is below my set limit of 78 degrees.  It reads 79 degrees and proceeds to run the AC until I am very uncomfortable.  I have to go into the app and reset the cooling threshold to 80 degrees to stop the AC.  It then registers the correct temperature of 69-72 degrees.

What can Nest do to correct this problem?  Please don't tell me to turn it on and off.  I already tried it and temperature still swings up to 7 degrees in any given hour.  See attached internal reading vs outside temps.Screenshot_20211019-125517.pngScreenshot_20211019-123000.pngScreenshot_20211019-122749.png

You might want to check the settings to be sure "Early On" and especially "Cool to Dry" are turned off.  Cool to Dry will run your A/C when the humidity gets too high, even if the temp is below your set point.

Everything is off except Leaf and Airwave.

Hey JackC,

Apologies for the late reply. I wanted to follow up and ensure you are good to go. Please let me know if you are still having trouble with the device not working as intended, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

Hi Jake,

It's not fixed. Nest's readings are way too hot.  I have to set my cooling limits to 80 degrees so it doesn't kick off the AC when it's actually 70 degrees inside.

I have the same issue, it senses cooler Temp than the real one, so it doesnt work as an AC because it doesnt start the unit, and , if it does, the temp goes down amazingly fast, and stops working, it is pretty obvious that the sensor is damaged, it also senses wrong humidity

Google Nest clearly doesn't give a darn about their customers.  Their bot "Jake" has not replied to me for 6 months.

I see a class action lawsuit in the works.
