Nest says Y2 wire is connected when it's not?

Recently removed my Nest (including the wiring) to paint a wall. Put everything back in place and wired it up again, exactly the same way.

When the device restarted, the Nest said my wiring/equipment had changed and the picture on the screen shows that a Y2 wire is connected even though one physically is not. I only have a Y1 wire, so why does the Nest think a wire is inserted in the Y2 slot?

Thanks in advance.

Try doing a reset to factory defaults and setting it up again.

Thank you, that surprisingly worked and now the Nest doesn't show the Y2 wire as connected (accurately).

@Patrick_Caezza, thanks for the help!

@fiveo, I'm glad to hear that Patrick's response helped you wire your Nest Thermostat. Please observe it for now and let us know if anything comes up.

Thanks,
