Nest says it’s heating but furnace isn’t on

Nest says it’s heating but furnace isn’t on. Completely random, getting worse.  I've seen several older posts about this but no solutions.   I've reset, shut power off and turned back on, checked wiring, .....etc.  Furnace servicing company came out and checked the furnace and found nothing wrong.  The Nest had worked perfectly for several years but now only works occasionally.  Now the face is orange and the temp is dropping in the house.  What else can I do to get the furnace to start?

Here's an update to the Nest outage.

After 36 hours of not working, Nest kicked back into working mode at 4:30am.  Its nice to have it working again, and it continues to work.

Interesting note-when the Nest was not working the history statistics said we used and enormous amount of power.  Much more than typical.  I cannot fathom what that stat tells me.

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help, and I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused everyone during this season. I'd love to know more about this.

A few questions: what specific type of Nest Thermostat is this? Could you provide a rundown of all the steps you've tried? Also, I found a helpful article with some troubleshooting steps for when heat is not activating. Please let us know if that helps or if the issue still persists.

Thanks for assisting, Mel.

Regards,

Mark
