Nest thermostat 3rd gen

delypinay

Just got a nest 3rd gen thermostat to replace a Honeywell 3-wire system. We’re having a problem with keeping the thermostat on and gave an error on the red wire saying there is no power. How do we connect these wires? The Honeywell has 1-red, 2-white, 3-green.

Please help ASAP.

Hey there delypinay,

Sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the Nest Thermostat 3rd gen, that definitely is not the experience we want for our customers, but I'm happy to look into this.

First off, I would suggest reviewing this article as that is the article to get started.

Secondly, these next 2 articles will help you to see if your system is compatible as well as giving you the option to contact a pro if needed.

  1. Compatibility Checker
  2.  contacting a pro

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns as I'm happy to help.

Best regards,

Garrett DS

Thanks for checking back. I gave up. I was told that ours is a proprietary system and converting it for compatibility will cost a pretty penny.
