Nest thermostat N72 code, Rh detected, No connection to equipment....

Was working fine...then .lost half my main breaker..seemed intermittent..lightening strike near road..blew fuse on air handler...replaced main breaker by electrician ....and hvav fuse by hvac tech....now get this error code.....could it be issue with transformer  near furnace?....can't check ac.now ..below 60 degrees..hope for Indian summer..but seems heat works...replaced base plate. Same issue...nest to send another..but thought..could it be transformer???

Try doing a reset to factory defaults on the thermostat and set it up again.

Have you checked the fuse on the control board in the furnace/air handler?

second floor learning nest controls ac and 1 zone heat...found blown fuse in air handler.. changed but still get error..too cold to ck ac now..below 60.....thought Rh controlled by furnace transformer that controls zones..but seems to be working despite error code of sensesed on thermostat  but not connected to equipment N 72...maintaining charge..common wire from air handler....was thinking of changing  heat transformer near furnace.. but also thought might just ignore code???   Thoughts ???

Yes.. thank you..I did a factory reset..no change.... why would it show all wires connected in the app..but on the thermostat it says rh not connected to equipment..and the rh wire is  grayed out like it's not connected..but seems to be working???..should I just ignore the thermostat  message...I was sent a replacement.  But afraid to change it since I do seem to be able to get heat upstairs

Hey Jaz60crna,

One thing you could try is just reseating the cables to make sure they have a good connection. It's possible the connection isn't very good and it's not registering. Maybe give that a quick look and see if all looks well there.

Thanks,

Jeff
