Ok, so I worked with the Support Chat person yesterday and determined that my current Honeywell thermostat IS compatible with the Nest, however, I need to get an R wire- or talk to a Nest Pro to check out my system to make sure it will work. Specifically the chat below:
"Because Nest Thermostat needs a R wire R wire is a power wire. As there is no R wire connected to your old thermostat you need to contact a Nest pro to check the wires at the control panel and conned it to R terminal of the Nest Thermostat.
Nest pro is a chargeable service you can contact them through below link and check the nest pro in your area.

My question: It does seem like I have a jumper metal staple where both R and Rc are located- but there is NO wire going to these. Do i reallllly need a Nest Pro to do this? I haven't opened the box, and really don't want to pay another $100 to get this installed if it's not necessary- I'll probably just send it back if that's the case. Any suggestions or experience with this issue??

Ok thank you. Your current thermostat seems incorrectly wired. The red wire currently plugged into B needs to be plugged into R instead. Rc and R stay joined by the metal jumper. Please make that change and verify that your system works well. Then proceed with your Nest thermostat installation.

Ok so I went through this with the CS person, so I actually have an answer on hand! It's an Amana Distonations Gas-Fired Warm Air Furnace (That's what the owners manual attached to the furnace says anyways) I live in a townhouse that was built in 2011
