Nest thermostat - battery low

Ravenk
Community Member

We have two nest thermostats in house.

one in hallway at ground level for all of house and a 2nd one in bedroom.

we had to have power to boiler turned off for 48 hours and also power supply to nest thermostats.

Once power came back the hallway thermostat was ok.

the one in bedroom says low battery and I can’t connect to it via app where it says offline.

is it a matter of waiting for battery to recharge?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have? You can visit this link to check what type of thermostat you have.

Charging your Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E for at least an hour using a micro USB charger might help. If your thermostat is encountering a low battery issue or no power, it will not be able to connect or detect any Wi-Fi network. Your thermostat's ideal battery level should be at least 3.7 above. You can check your thermostat power readout by going to Settings and Equipment.

If you have the Nest Thermostat 2020, having a Nest Power Connector or a C wire would help to provide sufficient power and avoid continuous low battery and power issues.

I appreciate the help, @Ashepherdson.

Best,

Jenelyn

Yes if the power level is too low wifi will not work, you can try to charge it using usb if you want to speed up the process
